2010 Annual Report Awards Call for Entries
The American Society of Professional Communicators is pleased to announce that we are now accepting entries for the 2010 ASPC Annual Report Awards competition. Click here to download a copy of the entry form.
The ASPC Annual Report Awards competition aims to recognize outstanding achievement in annual report production across categories that represent the most important features of a successful annual report. This gives us the opportunity to honor excellence in writing, design, photography and financial presentation, as well as online availability and features. What’s more, while we are determined to identify and reward those who have created the best annual reports for 2009, the ASPC awards committee is equally intent on ensuring fair evaluation standards by separating entries based on revenue class: not-for-profits, companies with less than $250 million in gross revenues, companies with gross revenues between $250 million and $2.5 billion, and companies with gross revenues greater than $2.5 billion.
In the 10 years since the ASPC Annual Report Awards were first created, more than 200 of the world's largest and smallest companies, most-impactful nonprofits, and most-effective public sector agencies have been honored with awards for excellence in the art of annual report communications.
Winners of the 2010 ASPC Annual Report Awards in each category and in each revenue class will receive a plaque signifying their achievement. The ASPC awards committee also may bestow a Colonial Award for Excellence or certificate of honorable mention upon exceptional entries.
As a service to our competition participants, the ASPC is again offering a written critique of submitted annual reports. Since the program's inception, approximately 25 percent of participants have elected to receive written critiques. Critiques examine each annual report by the contest categories and provide comparative analysis against current trends and long-accepted standards. In light of the economic headwinds facing every organization during the ongoing recession, the ASPC has reduced the fee for this service to just $425. Participation in the written critique and analysis program in no way affects competition judging.
In response to the volume of requests we've received -- particularly from organizations that operate on a July-June fiscal calendar -- the entry deadline for the 2010 ASPC Annual Report Awards competition has been extended to Friday, August 20, 2010. Participants will be notified of their entry status during the week of September 13.
