ASPC Membership
The ASPC membership program has lofty aims – to become a truly interconnected community for professional communicators to share ideas with one another and to be recognized for their achievements.
The ASPC is offering an extended-term membership special at what will become the annual rate in order to quickly build its membership base while many of the features that define the program – including an online job board, members-only publications and an online message board – are developed. For a limited time, the ASPC is offering an extended initial membership term (18 months) for what will ultimately become the annual (12 month) rate of $125. In addition, the first 500 members will forever be known as Founding Members. Founding Members’ dues are guaranteed not to increase for at least five years. Once the membership program reaches 500 members, the initial term of membership will be reduced to 12 months at the annual rate of $125.
SPECIAL GROUP DISCOUNT: Any group of four or more who submit their membership applications together pay just $100 per new member as long as payment is made with the same check, money order or credit card.

As the program grows, ASPC membership will offer members:
· Opportunities to share their stories and ideas with the worldThe ASPC Web site will frequently be updated with content created by communications professionals on a wide range of topics – from annual report production to speechwriting to innovative uses for graphic design. Members will have the opportunity to contribute original articles, to write and publish articles on assignment, or to serve as experts in the field whose quotes and other contributions may be used within articles developed by ASPC staff.
The ASPC also will rely heavily on its members to determine the direction and content of its quarterly membership newsletter, ASPC Quarterly.
· Networking and Career ServicesMembers will be able to participate in discussion, to ask questions and share tips, suggestions and ideas with their colleagues using the ASPC members-only message board. br>
We will seek to develop a mentorship forum in which young communications professionals can learn from the experience and wisdom of more seasoned colleagues.
We will, in time, open up a job board where members can post their resumes and browse communications job listings.
And Freelance Corner will allow members to advertise their services to other members and other potential consumers of those services at no cost. Here, you’ll be able to post a brief ad for yourself along with a link to your Web site or e-mail address for free.
Once membership has reached an appropriate level, we also will develop an online directory of members, making it easier for members to communicate with one another.
· Recognition and Membership NewsMembers can have their work prominently featured on the ASPC Web site or in the members’ quarterly newsletter, ASPC Quarterly. We will look to feature our members’ projects – when reproduction and archival are permissible and appropriate – for others see, giving members a unique opportunity to showcase their talents or to share their experiences with others.
In the spirit of the community we hope to create, we also will look to share news of members’ new jobs, promotions, awards and other significant professional and personal events.
Engaging one another, learning from the experiences of our colleagues and developing relationships that enhance our professional lives leads us to produce higher-quality work and makes the time we devote to our craft more satisfying. If you are looking to be a part of a dynamic, growing organization, and if you are looking to make a direct contribution to the field of professional communications, join the ASPC today.
